Ceramics

I discovered my love for ceramics during a figure study ceramics course at Pratt Institute. Having previously worked only two-dimensionally, it felt freeing to create sculptural work. Working in a medium that was unfamiliar to me alleviated any pressure to create perfect objects.

 

My ceramics are meant to be both beautiful and functional. I am often inspired by nature and draw on my background in painting to create detailed underglaze illustrations.
